As this year nears its end, we at IPEEC are thrilled to have been actively engaged in G20 activities in Japan and inspired by the message of action and hope that we heard during the NY Climate week in this crucial 2019. 

The Energy Management Action Network (EMAK) under the G20 Action will be held the 10th workshop (EMAK10) in Hanoi, Vietnam, with cooperation from the Vietnamese Government.

Transforming the transportation sector is crucial for the success of the sustainable energy transition and the protection of public health. To support the G20 economies in achieving these objectives, the governments of Japan, the United States, and the European Union continue to work in partnership with other G20 governments, the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), and the (IPEEC) to enhance international cooperation on policies for clean and efficient heavy-duty vehicles (HDV) and improved vehicle emissions compliance. 

Global implementation of world-class standards is urgently needed to stabilise and reduce the health impacts of transportation emissions. This webinar will provide an update on the progress of G20 economies in adopting and implementing world-class vehicle emissions and fuel quality standards.

IPEEC’s Buildings Energy Efficiency Task Group (BEET) has just released a new report on Energy Company Obligations: Examples of delivering energy efficiency in buildings and future trends (BEET 8 report). 

IPEEC’s G20 Energy Efficiency Finance Task Group (EEFTG) has released its new publication, “Energy Efficiency Finance and Investment: Stocktake report 2019”, outlining key findings from the G20 Global Summit on Financing Energy Efficiency, Innovation & Clean Technology it organised on 12 June 2019 in Tokyo, Japan. The purpose of this official G20 side event, which took place back-to-back with the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Energy Transitions and Global Environment for Sustainable Growth, was to convene representatives from the global economic and political systems to identify ways for finance and policy to work together in order to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable future.

On Thursday, 12 September, at 17h CEST, the G20 Transport Task Group will host a webinar on how The Real Urban Emissions (TRUE) Initiative and C40 partner cities are working to measure and reduce vehicle emissions.

On Tuesday, 16 July, at 15h CEST, the International Energy Agency will present the results of a new Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI) benchmarking report that evaluates the technology and policy drivers on historical fuel economy improvements in major car markets.
