The Top Ten Energy Efficiency Best Practices and Best Available Technologies Task Group (TOP TENs)

The Top Ten Energy Efficiency Best Practices and Best Available Technologies Task Group (TOP TENs) seeks to:

  • enhance multilateral cooperation for sharing and identifying energy efficiency best practices (BPs) and best available technologies (BATs);
  • improve how energy end-users apply them; and
  • develop consistent criteria and methodologies to compile, evaluate and disseminate these findings.
Why does information sharing for energy efficiency?

 Membership

Leading members: Australia and China.
Participants:Canada, France, Japan, Republic of Korea and the United States.

Recent developments

Over the past year, TOP TENs members developed a methodology for evaluating and scoring energy efficiency best practices (BPs) and best available technologies (BATs). Each member country applied the methodology and devised a list of BATs and BPs. Technology lists and technology fact sheets were produced to help policy-makers promote the most effective energy efficiency solutions in their respective countries.

 The latest publications for this task group can be found on the Publications page.
