Transport Task Group (TTG)
The Transport Task Group (TTG) was established by the G20 in order to:
- build domestic support and enhance capability for action to reduce the energy impact of motor transport, especially heavy‑duty vehicles (HDVs);
- identify and exchange best practices among G20 countries on the implementation of cost‑effective energy efficiency measures in the transport sector; and
- conduct analysis and outreach to assess the opportunities, barriers, costs and benefits of HDV energy efficiency action, and subsequently recommend a course of action for participating G20 countries.

Membership and governance
Leading members: the United States.
Participants: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the European Union, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Me , Russia and the United Kingdom. Implementing organisations include the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) and the Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI).
Recent developments
During 2015, the TTG:
- published a foundational briefing paper (Policies to Reduce Fuel Consumption, Air Pollution, and Carbon Emissions from Vehicles in G20 Nations) which presents opportunities for policy action on clean fuels and vehicles in participating countries;
- exchanged best practices on relevant national standards in participating nations; and
- conducted outreach in participating countries to enhance capacity, generate support and engage the private sector.
