The objectives of the sessions included exploring how to develop and improve benchmarking in energy-intensive industries and examining how to optimise the energy consumption of buildings from the design through to the maintenance phases. Representatives from IEA and IPEEC member governments, industry leads and experts gathered to share experiences in benchmarking, data collection and its on-the ground applications, as well as to discuss how to address the energy efficiency potential of one of a key sector: buildings.
